The best time to visit Turkmenistan is from mid-March to the end of May, and again from mid-September to November, when daytime temperatures are generally pleasant, ranging between 23°C and 35°C.
Winter months can be bitterly cold, while July and August are intensely hot, especially in desert regions. In Ashgabat, temperatures can rise well above 40°C in July and fall to around -5°C in winter. Rainfall is minimal throughout the year, though you may encounter light showers in early May or November. Desert nights can be surprisingly chilly, so if you plan to camp, it’s wise to pack extra layers.
