(the ancient eight-story fortress originally built as a fire lighthouse);
Later we will visit some sites on the Absheron Peninsula. Ateshgah, the Temple of the Fire Faithful located in the village of Surakhany. It was built on land where natural gas burned eternally by Zoroastrian believers who traveled from the province of Multan in India to worship. It is believed that these ancient fires gave Azerbaijan its name, which some researchers think means "Land of Fire". Then we will visit Yanar Dag (Mountain of Fire). The word 'Yanar' in Azeri language means "to burn", and "Dagh" – "mountain". And this is really a fiery mountain, not metaphorically, but literally.
