MEALS INCLUDED: BREAKFAST
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will visit Jvari Monastery (6th century) with views of the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers, and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th century), a jewel of Georgian architecture.
We continue north, passing Ananuri Castle (17th century), the former residence of the Princes of Aragvi, famous for its decorated church and views of the emerald lake.
We follow the Georgian Military Highway, crossing the Cross Pass (2,390 m), until reaching Kazbegi. From the village, we ascend to Gergeti Church (14th century), located on a hill with spectacular views of Mount Kazbegi (5,047 m).
Return to Tbilisi in the afternoon and accommodation at the hotel.
