Departure by car towards Bukhara through the Kizil-Kum desert, which means "the red sands".

To get from Khiva to Bukhara, we will cross the historic Amu Darya River (this river, along with the Syr Darya further north, marks the border with Kazakhstan and is one of the only water sources for the Aral Sea). Arrival in Bukhara and transfer to the hotel. Rest at the hotel.

Departure for the border with Tajikistan (80 km), farewell to the Uzbek team. 800 m foot crossing and customs formalities. Meeting with the Tajik team and continuation to Khujand, an ancient Silk Road city and headquarters of Alexander the Great's armies. Lunch upon arrival at a cafe. Check-in at the host family's home and city tour of Khujand: Panjshanbe Orient Bazaar, Sheikh Muslihiddin Madrasa, Soghd Historical Museum, fortress, among others. Before dinner, optional boat trip and swim in the Syrdaryo River. Rest at the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Istaravshan, with its old town and traditional bazaar. Visit to Mugtepa Fortress, Hazrati Shoh Mosque, and a brief stop at the local bazaar. Continue to Penjikent, crossing the Shakhristan Pass (3378 m). Lunch at a cafe in the gorge. Arrival in Dushanbe in the afternoon and rest at the hotel.

Visit to the United Museum of Tajikistan with exhibits on history, art, and natural history, including Buddha in Nirvana (closed Mondays). Tour of the botanical garden and local bazaar. Arrival in Astana, capital of Kazakhstan. The guide will meet the tourists. Transfer to the hotel, overnight stay.

After breakfast, we depart for the Karakol border crossing through Charyn Canyon, which reminds us of the Grand Canyon in the USA. We will be able to take a walk, then continue our journey to Karakol.

Departure for Bishkek. En route, we will visit the Burana Tower Architectural Complex, located approximately 75 kilometers from Bishkek. This city was established in the 10th century on the site of an older settlement and was the eastern capital of the Karakhanid State during the 10th and 11th centuries AD. We will also enjoy an eagle viewing performance on the road to Bishkek.

Arrival in Bishkek and check-in at the hotel. Rest.
